The broadacre agriculture region of Western Australia, spanning the area between the Darling range and Goldfields , form Geraldton to Esperence to the Great South West.

Rolling hills and vast plains, with remnant Wandoo Mallet Acacia, and river gums along river courses, that his great basin serves the major rivers that exit into the Indian or Great Southern Oceans.

Climate is typically low rainfall ( 200- 400mm) hot dry windy summers , cool overcast winters, with clear nights and frosty mornings.

Design response is lots of shade, small openings, winter heating, cross ventilation.
